My First American Weekend !

It was my first weekend in the land of the badgers. It was long awaited one. All the snow that blanketed the land was gone. It was the first weekend with clear outsides. I’m lucky landing at the right time. My frds taking care of me was the reason for a smooth start in the US. I live and work here in the town of Fond du Lac. It is the tip of the wonderful lake Winnebago. And hence the name Fond du Lac, which means ‘tip of Lake’ in French. Need to validate this piece of information though. Milwaukee and Madison comes down to FDL. Adjoining the Winnebago are two other little towns of Appleton and Oshkosh. FDL, Appleton and Oshkosh, all three together make sense as a town.

Friday leaving the office is little different. Minds are inflated with the fact of upcoming Gala weekends. Here they start the very second we leave the office on Friday. Hardly getting sometime for changing cloths for playing volley ball – a very interesting game.

Saturday was a lil boring. It went passed shopping in the near by Forest Mall. I was in a desperate need for a good jacket, that can come use for summer, yeah strange. Then again volley ball. Berger frm Berger King. Here Cola is Soda. And soda you pay befall to unlimited times refilling. Good.

Sunday was the day to prove. Got some people around convinced and got their asses out from the lethargic fevicol'ed beds. We rang up the Budget cab, the only means of travel for car’less bafoons. And started to the north, to the Lakeside park in FDL. The Winnebago was no more frozen. But also was not ‘water water everywhere ..’. There is next to the park a small Zoo housing the beautiful animal, deers. Tourists feed the deers apple. Next to it is a Light house – which remains closed during winters. The stairs take us to a lobby housing a telescope. Near to the Light house is a play ground for kids. Then the JETTY – but saw all boats covered tidily from the harshness of the weather. All waiting for the ice to melt completely, awaiting the pleasant seasons of the SPRING and the SUMMER. And few other hangouts.
